People

Executive Director

Dr John Hayward has been the executive director of the Jubilee Centre since January 2008. He previously worked for twelve years in international development. For much of that time he was based in the former Soviet republic of Tajikistan, just north of Afghanistan, where he established an adult education centre. He has a degree in natural sciences and a PhD in genetics from Cambridge University and an MA in TESOL from Azusa Pacific University. He is married with two primary school-aged children.

Founder and Chairman of the International Jubilee Network

Dr Michael Schluter founded the Jubilee Centre in 1983. He is facilitating a number of groups who are seeking to establish associated Jubilee Centre-like organisations in various countries, including Singapore, Kenya, and America. He is also chairman of the Keep Sunday Special Campaign and chief executive of the Relationships Foundation. He has a PhD in agricultural economics from Cornell University and worked in East Africa for six years as a consultant for the World Bank and the International Food Policy Research Institute. Michael has co-authored The R Factor (1993) and The R Option (2003) and contributed to Relational Justice (1994), Building a Relational Society: New priorities for public policy (1996), Christian Perspectives on Law and Relationism (2000) and Christianity in a Changing World (2000).

Staff

Tim Adams joined the Jubilee Centre in September 2005 as Head of Development. He holds a degree in theology from London School of Theology, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, and a Masters in Managing Change & Organisational Learning from Oxford Brookes Business School. Previously Tim was Head of Fundraising and Organisational Development at IFES, a student charity based in Oxford, and prior to that was a secondary school teacher.

Alan White joined the Jubilee Centre staff in September 2005 as part-time Projects Manager. He is married with two children, is an elder in a local church and is currently studying theological and pastoral studies part-time. He has worked for many years in marketing consultancy.

Sarah Bull, Marilyn Collins, Chris Dixon, James Marshall and Maureen Millar all contribute part of their time to the work of the Jubilee Centre. They also serve the Relationships Foundation, the Keep Sunday Special Campaign and, to a lesser extent, Concordis International Trust.

Advisors

Michael Clark is the business adviser to the Jubilee Centre as well as General Manager of the Relationships Foundation. Michael joined the team in November 2000 from TXU Europe (formerly Eastern Electricity), where he held several senior management roles, including Human Resources, Corporate Facilities and Administration, and acted as the company focal point for dealing with the Regulator and consumer bodies. He is married and has two grown-up children.

John Ashcroft has been with the Jubilee Centre and its sister organisations since 1989. He works principally for the Relationships Foundation but serves as a research fellow and a writer for the Jubilee Centre as well. John holds a degree in theology from Oxford University and a Master of Theology from King's College, London. He is married and has three children.
