New to our website?

Welcome to Jubilee Centre’s new website, containing hundreds of articles and resources all pertaining to thinking biblically about public life.  We hope the following explanation will help you find your way around, but if you cannot find what you are looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  We have not brought some older articles or blog posts across from our old website, but can make them available to you if you know what you are looking for.

Finding your way around

We have a wealth of resources here to help you explore a biblical perspective on society generally and specific issues or sectors.  You can also discover how the biblical social vision can be expressed in terms of right relationships.  But first,  we realise that many visitors to this site are not so internet savvy and may find navigating their way around rather daunting!

So let’s begin by explaining each of the Main Menu tabs across the top of the page:

HOME

This takes you to our main ‘shop window’ which presents to you our featured resources in the large changing photo display, then underneath that are four resources for newcomers.  Below them you have six lists showing our most recent content under each of these headings: Cambridge Papers, Blogs, Books and Booklets, News and Reviews, Events and Multimedia.

In the right hand column, you will find at the top an announcement about the next opportunity you have to engage with the Jubilee Centre in person – usually an event.  Below this is a current list of most popular posts (this means any article, book, blog post, audio/video etc. on our website) followed by a graphic illustration of the most popular words or ‘tags’ on the website.  Below this is a window with our latest Tweets from Twitter, and finally we have a visual index of our most recent videos.

ABOUT

The sections under the About tab introduce you to the Jubilee Centre’s mission, history and team members.

RESOURCES

There are several ways to find what you are looking for:

1) Browsing resources

Click the Browse Resources Tab at the top of the page.  You will be able to browse through a long list of all our resources, or narrow your search down to a particular format, for example Cambridge Papers, Blogs, Books and much more.

Alternatively, you can browse through Jubilee Centre Topics using the menu on the right-hand sidebar of the Homepage.

2) Finding a particular resource

On the Browse Resources page (and all other article pages) there is a full FILTER feature on the right-hand side-bar.  This is where you can search by any Format (category), Topic, Author (contributor), Date or Tag.  Select one or more options to narrow down the resources.  If you have any further trouble finding a resource, do not hesitate to contact the Jubilee Centre on 01223 566319 during office hours and we will be happy to help you find what you need.

RSI

This tab introduces the Relational Studies Initiative, under which most of Jubilee Centre’s training takes place.  It explains our online Learning Community and describes our other training programmes.  The Learning Community offers an exciting new way to explore Jubilee Centre resources, by putting people into small groups to study the biblical social vision together.  It is currently in its pilot phases, but for more information, please call the office.

SUPPORT

Your support and involvement is key to seeing biblical values translated into the public sphere.  Browse these pages for ways you can get involved – whether financially, through prayer, volunteering or recieving our mailings.  We would love to hear from you!

CHECKOUT

This is the page where you can see what items you have put in your ‘trolley’ to buy from the Jubilee Centre.  You can purchase books and booklets from our website (by browsing the Books and Booklet sections).  Once you are ready to pay for and order your items, click on this tab –  which will take you to PayPal for your payment details.  Once we revieve confirmation of payment, we will send you your purchases.

CONTACT

This is where you will find all of our contact details.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Side bar

On the right hand side of the page is a vertical column, or side bar, which provides supplementary information and aids to navigation.  At the top there may be an announcement about a forthcoming event, then a list of the most popular articles or pages on this website.  Below that is a ‘tag cloud’ indicating the frequency of different main words which occur right across this website, then the most recent ‘tweets’ on Twitter about or by the Jubilee Centre.  Lastly, you will find our most recent video content displayed.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask us – click on the Contact tab in the main menu.
