Meet our Trustees


  • Founder

    Michael did his PhD in agricultural economics at Cornell University (1973) before working as a research fellow with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and economics consultant with the World Bank in East Africa. He founded the Jubilee Centre in 1983, and soon after the Keep Sunday Special campaign. Since then, he has developed many other organisations based on a Relational understanding of society and public policy as taught in the bible. Currently, his primary role is working on peace in the Korean Peninsula.


  • Chairman

    Paul Mills worked for the UK Treasury in a number of positions – including head of research at the Debt Management office and team leaders for Debt and Reserves Management and Financial Stability and Regulatory Policy. He then worked in the IMF as senior economist (Monetary and Capital Markets), before joining the London office of the IMF as senior economist, located in the Bank of England.


  • Trustee Member

    Ian Stackhouse became the Senior Pastor of Millmead in 2004 and has been in ministry for over thirty years. He is married to Susanna and they have four sons who are at various stages of young adult life. Ian has authored four books—the Gospel Driven Church being his PhD thesis—and has contributed various other chapters and articles. As part of leading Millmead, he occasionally travels in the UK and overseas to support our World Partners, ministering in Churches, seminaries, conferences, and retreats.


  • Trustee Member

    Catherine Hammond works as a research director for a global management consultancy firm focused on telecoms, media and technology. She conducts research on key topics within the industry, with a focus on business use of telecoms and IT services. She has previously worked as a consultant undertaking work for a wide range of operators, regulators and government agencies in Europe and Asia, and had roles as a secondary school teacher and full time mother.

    Matthew Ferguson is a trainee solicitor at a commercial law firm in Edinburgh. Prior to his traineeship, he worked as a research assistant to Dr Michael Schluter and Relational Peacebuilding Initiatives in their work on the Korean Peninsula. He grew up as a ‘missionary kid’ in Japan and India, before returning home to Scotland for university.

Meet our Staff


  • Manager

    Ruben finished his MA in Public Policy: Conflict Resolution and Mediation in Tel Aviv. He’s from Venezuela with an interest in politics, religion and social reform. He worked as a project coordinator and humanitarian aid work in South America, Eastern Europe and Asia. At the moment, he works part time as manager of Jubilee Centre (Cambridge).
